Programs and Events

In order for the WPC to successfully plan and organize these activities and events, we rely on the Westminster parents to contribute their time to attend and join us. Below are some of the community programs and events that the WPC organizes and supports annually. Visit this page for all volunteer opportunities for these and other events!

Join the Westminster community for a family movie night. Every year, a fun movie is selected and kids of all ages gather for an evening of cinema and snacks. Join us for this event and connect with other families! We have volunteer opportunities for the concession stand during the event.

A week of fun and friendly competition, the WPC provides a tent set up with a table for replenishing water bottles, first-aid kit, and cheering on the students from the side-lines! We also provide each child with a beverage and a school-wide lunch. This week we also have the Parent/Student basketball tournament where the parents go head-to-head against the school teams! Practices start in January and are just a fun way of getting yourself back on the court and meeting other parents before the big game.

We welcome new Westminster School and Griffin Academy families at a casual get together just before the start of the school year. Volunteers greet families and help at the event.

A kid-driven fundraiser for collecting “loose change,” this event is held three times a year, with end-of-year prizes for top students and grades. Dimes for Drama strives to get all Westminster students excited about supporting their school by giving them a goal of 100% participation, which we reward with a special party at the end of the year. It’s not uncommon for all grades to achieve this lofty goal, so we need lots of parent volunteers to help with counting, awards, and parties.

This adults-only event features a raucous and highly-competitive trivia game among teams of parents and teachers. Volunteers help set up and clean up at the end of the evening.

This school-wide event kicks off the school year bringing together all families, faculty, and recent grads. There are lots of sports and activities, as well as raffles and competitions, which make it a highly anticipated event each year! Volunteers set up, serve food, supervise the playground and obstacle courses, and clean up at the end of the event.

Every 3rd Friday of the month (except December) for a total of 8 meals throughout the year, parent volunteers serve the students a special lunch of hot pizza, apple slices, a delicious treat, and water or lemonade. This is a great way to visit your student’s classroom, greet their friends and teacher, and connect with other parents at a casual event.

A favorite event for students and parents alike, Bingo Night features games, food and fun for the whole family! Volunteers help to set up, distribute bingo sheets and markers, serve food, and clean up at the end of the evening.

The WPC coordinates the staff luncheon and teacher appreciation week to recognize the faculty and express our gratitude for their dedication and hard work on behalf of our children.

This full stage production starring Westminster parents is a fun way to get to know other parents while working together on a community-building project. Many volunteers are needed to work on this project, both on and off stage.

We hold three socials and general membership meetings every school year, in September, January and May. All parents and guardians of Westminster School and Griffin Academy students are invited to attend. See Calendar of Events for the next meeting and come join us!

We typically discuss our annual events and fundraising projects, we often welcome members of the administration to speak to the parents about important issues concerning the school. From time to time, we invite speakers to present on topics of interest to parents.

This service to the Westminster Community enables parents to purchase good quality, gently used uniforms while supporting the school. Volunteers facilitate in collecting, organizing, and reselling.

Each morning from 7:45 – 8:15 a.m., visit the front office for everything from essentials such as pencils, erasers, and binder paper to those little extras like combs and locker mirrors.
